- Develop pipeline of potential customers
- Undertake feasibility studies and business case analysis
- Do preliminary engineering and project finance
- Detailed process engineering
- Oversee detailed engineering plans
- Oversee plant permits including environmental permits
- Construction oversight
- Start-up training, operations, and system maintenance
- Continuous “real-time” offsite monitoring system
- Troubleshooting services to ensure plants operate at peak performance
- Recruit new clients and cross-sell
- Stay ahead of the curve with new technology design work
- Operates plasma laboratory to determine materials suitability for pilot plant.

- Demonstrate system’s profitability for municipal client based on actual market conditions at client’s site
- No extraction of inorganics by recycling makes for better quality rock wool
- Note capital cost is $98.6m and reflects actual AST selling price including 23% markup
- AST earns $21m on sale to the County
- Model allows for adjustments based on multiple functions
- Annual EBITDA for customer is $32.5m
- Annual return on capital cost for customer is 33% pa.
JV Plant Using AST Process
500 tons/day Gasification Plant
Project Synopsis: Waste Management Company, California
- This project is for an installation following a MRF (Recycling Facility)
- As such MSW waste has relatively higher organic content
- Recycling extraction lowers slag quality for rock wool; only $19.94 per ton when sold
- Note capital cost is $77.5m and does not include AST cost mark-up of 23%
- EBITDA for entire project $26m/year
- Annual return on capital cost is 33% pa
- AST-Engineering share of the JV project is assumed at 35%
- AST EBITDA is $9m/year.
